Short-distance fishing

Our territory abounds in these small rivers which are sometimes not more than twenty meters wide. Carp populations are less abundant than on the larger rivers but with a little research it is possible to achieve some very nice fishing. You will meet in these rivers very combative fishes and in the major part of the time on posts encumbered. It will be necessary to leave nothing to chance and to equip yourself accordingly in order not to undergo the fights with these small furies!

La carpe en petite rivière

Not too long, powerful and progressive rods

The positions available on these small rivers can be tight and there is often not enough room to manoeuvre comfortably. The ideal rod length is between 10 and 12 feet. Fishing in tree or lily pad areas will require power to keep the fish from running into the obstacle. 3Lbs being a minimum. Braid fishing being preferable on these spots, it will be advisable to have a rod with a progressive action in order not to stall too often. For this fishery, we have selected 3 blanks that meet these specifications:

  1. Harrison Torrix Stalker 10' 3.25lbs. A blank that is both progressive and powerful in the heel. A great all-rounder!
  2. American Tackle Atrex 10' 3.5lbs. When you need power for strong fishing in front of obstacles.
  3. Harrison Torrix 12' 3lbs. Longer length for larger rivers, but with the power to go anywhere.
