100% natural silk threads, made in France.
The silk thread is well known in the fly rod tying world, especially among the tyers of split bamboo rods, or fiberglass rods. This thread becomes translucent during the varnishing phase, which allows you to obtain translucent colored ligatures, or even completely transparent if you use the white #4096.
Advice for use :
- This thread is very thin (thinner than A size), be sure to keep a moderate tension while tying.
- For the rodbuidlers who want to make a transparent ligature with the white #4096:
- Do not expose the thread to the flame before varnishing or it will turn your wire black.
- Varnish ligatures in two coats, with a first coat of "low build" fluid epoxy varnish.
